SVdP Haven Dedication
On Dec. 13, 2009, Rev. Frederick Campbell, Bishop of the Columbus diocese presided over a dedication ceremony for the opening of the Saint Vincent Haven, Thrift Store and Pantry. The cold and rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the large crowd that gathered for the dedication of the newly relocated and remodeled Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store and Food Pantry and the newly built St. Vincent Haven at 115-135 Wilson Street, Newark, Ohio. Bishop Frederick Campbell of the Columbus Diocese began the dedication ceremony with a welcome and short prayer service at the Thrift Store before moving to The Haven to continue the blessing of the residence rooms, kitchen and gathering space. St. Vincent Haven provides shelter, food, referral services and mentoring to 24 homeless men.
